Man Points Loaded Gun At 2 Women Inside Home In Capital Region, Police Say

A man is facing charges after allegedly pointing a loaded handgun at two women during an altercation at a home in the region.

Albany police responded to an apartment complex near Park Avenue and Quail Street at around noon on Sunday, Sept. 18, after getting reports of a man inside with a gun.

When officers arrived, they found several people inside the apartment and witnessed one person throw a loaded handgun out of a window, police said.

Investigators determined that 56-year-old Ike Weems, of Albany, had threatened two women inside the unit by pointing the weapon at them.

There were no reports of injuries stemming from the altercation.

Weems was arrested on charges of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

He was scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Monday, Sept. 19.
